Multi-channel tests of the matter-bounce prediction fNL = −35/16 and a joint (r, fNL) no-go for single-field matter bounces
A joint tensor-and-non-Gaussianity no-go for single-field matter bounces, with a viable curvaton route
Abstract
Track A's flagship line (2026-09-02 portfolio decision): the A3 skeleton (research/track_a3_multichannel/) folds in the P2′ v2L.0.2 exact-amplitude theory per PAPER_LINEAGE_2026-08-05.md's 2026-09-02 decision record, so the exact matter-contraction derivation and its multi-channel observational consistency checks live in one submission-track manuscript rather than split across a Letter and a research brief. v3M.0.5: R2 CLOSED (real 30-bin injection-recovery validation, Eq. (8) sigma^2 term, Omega_DM label fix, precision/label fixes, five carried R1 minors); per directive R2, rounds STOP — residue is genre/length/venue.
Result summary
- openfNL = −35/16 = −2.1875 for the stated matter-dominated-contraction background and cubic action (c_s→1 limit), folded in from P2′ v2L.0.2
- openLedger #1 CLOSED: independent from-scratch in-in re-derivation reproduces −35/16 by a second method; Cai et al. (2009)'s −35/8 located as a uniform factor-2 discrepancy, not a competing derivation
- nullNew Sec. VII/VIII (D-A3-10/11): r=16ε=24 exactly, ~670× above BICEP/Keck r<0.036; joint (r, fNL) no-go excludes single-field matter bounces jointly on r and fNL (windows disjoint 296× in c_s, strengthening Li et al. 2016's own no-go 3.8×); curvaton-type spectator route is the surviving (r, n_s)-viable path
- openNANOGrav 15-yr free-spectrum MCMC: γ = 2.57 ± 0.38 vs. the matter-bounce prediction 3, Savage–Dickey B ≈ 3.2 for matter bounce over free spectrum
